Coming from the aerospace industry, Gary Holzapfel created the ARP (Automotive Racing Products) brand in the early 1970s in order to respond to a major problem in motor sports: engine failure linked to screws/studs that are not strong enough. At the time there was no manufacturer capable of meeting these needs. Today ARP offers thousands of references in different ranges and types of products such as cylinder head screws, crankshaft bearing screws, connecting rod screws, etc. Depending on the application, ARP offers different ranges (materials) of screws: standard resistance properties completely suitable for prepared motors. This steel offers a tensile strength of between 1240 and 1447 N/mm2. than 8740, ARP2000 alloy is capable of supporting clamping/tensile loads of up to 1516 N/mm2. This range of screws is frequently used on track and drag cars and can be used with hydrogen. It is a high quality treated steel offering tensile and fatigue strength properties significantly superior to the 8740 and ARP2000 ranges. Its tensile strength can go up to 1792 N/mm2. This material is more susceptible to corrosion and should therefore be kept oiled and not exposed to moisture. It is not recommended to use hydrogen with this range.

CA625+ (Custom Age 625 More): this "super-alloy" has significantly superior technical properties while being resistant to corrosion and oxidation. Its tensile strength can reach 1930 N/mm2.

All ARP screws are designed and manufactured in the United States. The manufacture of ARP screws begins with cold or hot forging then a heat treatment (different depending on the range) is applied and shot peening is then carried out to eliminate irregularities. Next comes precise grinding to obtain perfect concentricity and then the thread is made. And finally the finishing during which a coating is applied such as chrome-molybene black oxide or stainless steel polishing depending on the product range.

Each kit is delivered with assembly grease and instructions in which it is indicated:

    • The installation steps
    • The tightening torque
    • The tightening procedure
