  • BMW 418i F32 136hp B38B15A 2016-2020

The B38B15A in the BMW 418i F32 is the 1.5 12V three-cylinder from BMW's modular engine family, shared with the 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series and the MINI range.

This page gathers the cylinder head work NSB Concept lists for that block, all of it Supertech: performance intake and exhaust valves, valve springs supplied with their retainers, intake and exhaust valve stem seals, and valve collets in both 5mm and 6mm with your choice of keeper grooves.

No rotating assembly parts are listed for the B38: forged pistons, connecting rods and big end bearings sit on the four-cylinder pages of the same 4 Series.

  • BMW 420i F32/F82 184hp B48B20A 2016-2020

The B48B20A in the BMW 420i F32/F82 is the 2.0 16V turbocharged four-cylinder from BMW's modular family, also fitted to the MINI Cooper S and John Cooper Works.

This is the most complete 4 Series page for that block: JE, Wossner and Supertech forged pistons in 82, 82.5 and 83mm bores with compression ratios from 9.5:1 to 11:1, ZRP and Boostline 4340 forged rods with ARP2000, L19 or CA625+ hardware, ACL RACE big end bearings, ARP head and main studs, plus Supertech valves, springs, stem seals and collets.

It is the only B48 page here to carry the Cometic MLX head gasket in 83.5mm bore, in 0.81 and 1.02mm.

  • BMW 420i F32/F33/F36 184hp N20B20 2013-2017

    The N20B20 in the BMW 420i F32, F33 and F36 is the direct-injection 2.0 16V turbocharged four-cylinder that preceded the modular B48 family, also fitted to the 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, X1 and Z4.

Two active references cover the bottom end of this block: a set of four ZRP 4340 forged connecting rods supplied with ARP2000 hardware, rated for both N20B20 and N26B20, and a set of tri-metal big end bearings available from ACL RACE untreated and from KING RACING with the pMaxKote coating.

Bearings are ordered in standard, in standard with extra HX clearance, and in +0.25mm and +0.50mm undersize, which covers a crank pin that has already been reground.

  • BMW 428i F32/F33/F36 245hp N20B20 2013-2017

The 428i F32, F33 and F36 uses the same N20B20 as the 420i, turned up to 245hp. The performance stock is therefore identical across both power levels, and the higher boost pressure is what makes rod hardware the deciding factor.

The ZRP forged connecting rods are machined from 4340 steel in an I-beam profile and supplied with ARP2000 hardware. They are rated for the N20B20 and the N26B20 alike.

Tri-metal big end bearings come either from ACL RACE untreated or from KING RACING with pMaxKote, which protects on start-up. Sizes: standard, standard with HX clearance, +0.25 and +0.50mm.

  • BMW 428i F32/F33/F36 245hp N26B20 2013-2017

The N26B20 is the SULEV version of the 2.0 16V turbocharged N20 four-cylinder, restricted to certain markets and fitted to the 245hp 428i F32, F33 and F36. The block and rotating assembly are those of the N20B20.

One reference is currently attached to this page: the tri-metal big end bearing set, offered by ACL RACE untreated and by KING RACING with pMaxKote, in standard, standard with extra HX clearance, and +0.25mm and +0.50mm undersize.

The ZRP 4340 forged connecting rods with ARP2000 hardware are rated for the N20B20 and the N26B20 alike, yet do not appear on this page: ask us for them, they suit this engine.

  • BMW 430i F32/F82 252hp B48B20B 2016-2020

The B48B20B in the BMW 430i F32/F82 is the 252hp version of the modular 2.0 16V turbocharged four-cylinder, mechanically identical to the B48B20A of the 420i.

This page carries the full B48 build: JE, Wossner and Supertech forged pistons in 82, 82.5 and 83mm bores, compression ratios from 9.5:1 to 11:1 and a 33.2mm compression height; ZRP and Boostline 4340 forged rods with ARP2000, L19 or CA625+ hardware; ACL RACE big end bearings in standard, +0.025 and +0.25mm; ARP2000 head and main studs; Supertech valves, springs, stem seals and collets.

The Cometic MLX head gasket for the B48 sits on the 420i B48B20A page.

  • BMW 435i F32/F82 306hp N55B30 2013-2016

    The N55B30 in the BMW 435i F32/F82 is the single-turbo 3.0 24V straight-six, shared with the 135i, M235i, 335i and 535i. The performance stock is common to the 306 and 340hp versions.

This page takes the engine from the bottom up: forged pistons in 84, 84.02 and 84.5mm bores, compression ratios from 9:1 to 10.3:1 and a 22mm gudgeon pin, across the JE, Manley, Supertech and Wossner ranges; ZRP 4340 forged I-beam rods and Manley in H-beam and I-HD, with ARP2000 or L19 hardware.

Tri-metal big end and main bearings come from ACL RACE untreated or KING RACING with pMaxKote, in standard, with HX clearance and in undersize down to 0.50mm.

  • BMW 435i F32/F82 340hp N55B30 2013-2016

The 340hp 435i F32/F82 uses the same N55B30 as the 306hp car, and therefore the same performance stock. This page approaches it from the top end, where holding a raised boost pressure is decided.

The head gasket comes as a Cometic MLX in 85.0mm bore, in 0.81, 1.12, 1.32 and 1.52mm thickness, or as an Athena O-ring in 86.0mm bore at 1.50mm: four thicknesses to recover a compression ratio after skimming.

Then come Ferrea stainless valves with three keeper grooves and Supertech with a single groove, the Supertech exhaust valve being sodium-filled Inconel, plus performance springs, stem seals and collets in 5mm and 6mm. The Dinan air filter completes the intake.

  • BMW 440i F32/F82 326hp B58B30 2016-

The B58B30 in the BMW 440i F32/F82 is the 3.0 24V turbocharged straight-six from BMW's modular family, shared with the M140i, M240i, 340i, 540i and the Toyota Supra. The stock covers the 326 and 360hp versions alike.

This page takes the standard bottom end: forged pistons in 82, 82.5 and 83mm bores, compression ratios from 10.5:1 to 11:1 and compression heights from 32.2 to 33.2mm, in JE, Wossner and Diamond; ZRP 4340 forged I-beam rods and Boostline in I-3P, with ARP2000, L19 or CA625+ hardware.

The hardware is complete: ARP head studs in CA625+ and ARP2000, a fourteen-piece ARP 8740 main stud kit, and ACL RACE or KING RACING pMaxKote bearings.

  • BMW 440i F32/F82 360hp B58B30 2016-

The 360hp 440i F32/F82 shares its B58B30 and all of its performance stock with the 326hp version. What sets this page apart is the piston set it puts forward.

Alongside the standard-stroke forged pistons, NSB Concept lists a JE Ultra Series set designed for a 100mm stroke crankshaft: 82 and 83mm bores, an 11:1 compression ratio and a compression height cut to 30.5mm, the dimension that makes the longer stroke possible without touching the block.

The cylinder head follows with the Athena O-ring gasket in 83.0 and 84.5mm bore and the Cometic MLX in 83.0mm, Supertech valves, a twenty-four piece spring kit, stem seals and collets.

  • BMW M4 F82 431HP S55B30 2014-

The S55B30 in the BMW M4 F82 is the twin-turbocharged 3.0 24V straight-six from the M division, derived from the N55 but given its own closed-deck block and a forged crankshaft. The stock is common to the 431 and 450hp M4 and to the M4 GTS.

This page approaches the build from the bottom end: forged pistons in 84, 84.02 and 84.5mm bores, compression ratios from 9:1 to 10.3:1, in JE, Manley, Supertech and Wossner; ZRP 4340 forged I-beam rods and Manley in H-beam and I-HD, with ARP2000 or L19 hardware.

Tri-metal big end and main bearings are offered by ACL RACE and by KING RACING with pMaxKote, in standard and in undersize.

  • BMW M4 Competition F82 450hp S55B30 2016-

The M4 Competition F82 uses the same S55B30 as the 431hp M4, raised to 450hp, and shares its entire performance stock. This page approaches it from the cylinder head, where the twin-turbo seal is decided.

The head gasket is a Cometic MLX in 85.0mm bore and 1.12mm thickness, a reference specific to the M3 F80 and M4 F82, distinct from the multi-thickness gasket of the 435i N55.

Valves come from Ferrea in stainless steel with three keeper grooves, or from Supertech with a single groove, the Supertech exhaust valve being sodium-filled Inconel. Added to these are Supertech and Ferrea springs, stem seals and 5mm and 6mm collets.

  • BMW M4 GTS F82 500hp S55B30 2016-2017

The M4 GTS F82 takes the S55B30 to 500hp, the highest output in the 4 Series, and receives the same performance stock as the 431 and 450hp M4 with one exception.

Everything is here to rebuild the block: forged pistons in 84 to 84.5mm bores including a compression ratio taken down to 9:1, the figure that leaves the most headroom for high boost, in JE, Manley, Supertech and Wossner; ZRP and Manley 4340 forged rods; ACL RACE and KING RACING pMaxKote bearings in standard and undersize; a Cometic MLX head gasket in 85.0mm; valves, springs, stem seals and collets.

The only difference from the other two M4 pages: the Dinan air filter kit is not attached here.
