The M54B25 is BMW's 2.5 litre 24-valve straight six, fitted to the 325 among others.
This category covers the bottom end of the build. The forged connecting rods made for this engine come as a full set or as a single rod, so one damaged rod can be replaced without buying the whole set again. They are designed to take forged pistons and to cope with the extra revs and cylinder pressure of a tuned engine.
Alongside them, tri-metal big end bearings, shared across the BMW M20, M50, M52 and M54 straight sixes, complete the rotating assembly.
