Sets of 8 reinforced inlet valves for the 2.0 TFSI of the SEAT Leon, Altea, Toledo, Exeo and Alhambra.
SEAT uses the Volkswagen group's 2.0 TFSI, a 2 litre turbocharged four-cylinder with direct injection and 16 valves, in its EA113 then EA888 generations. From 2005 to 2020 it is found under the bonnet of the Leon 1P and Leon Cupra R, the Leon Cupra 5F, the Altea, Altea XL and Toledo III, the Exeo and the Alhambra, from 185 to 310 hp.
Its cylinder head carries 8 inlet valves, two per cylinder: depending on the engine code, 06D 109 601 M with a 33.9 mm head, or 06K 109 601 and 06L 109 601 with a 33.85 mm head, with a 6 mm stem and 104 mm length. The usual tuning of this engine, a remap, a larger turbo or sharper camshafts, asks far more of them than standard use.
The inlet valve lifts at every cycle to let the air in, comes back down onto its seat and slides in its guide, dozens of times per second at high rpm, between 400 and 550 °C. At these temperatures standard chrome-silicon steel loses 50 % of its strength: from 500 MPa at 500 °C it drops to 250 MPa at 600 °C.
SUPERTECH valves are black nitride stainless steel with a dished head; nitriding hardens the stem and limits its wear in the guide, and the single groove models get an undercut stem under the head. The FERREA valves belong to the Competition Plus series, which the maker quotes as 20 % stronger when hot and under fatigue, with a seat life 25 % longer.
The +1 mm size takes the head to 34.85 mm (SUPERTECH) or 34.9 mm (FERREA) without changing stem or length: the opening at the seat grows, filling improves and the engine gains power, once the inlet seats are cut to this size.

With the 3 groove valves (VWIVN-1002T, FERREA), original-type collets go back in; the single groove valves (VWIVN-1002S, VWIVN-1004S) require single groove collets.
For the +1 mm size (VWIVN-1004S, F2180P), the inlet seats are cut to 34.85 or 34.9 mm during the cylinder head rebuild.
Hydraulic tappets take up valve clearance: nothing to adjust after changing the valves.
| SUPERTECH, a Californian brand from San Jose, has developed valves, springs, retainers and guides for racing for more than thirty years. Each valve is designed for a specific cylinder head, put through ultrasound, X-ray and laser checks, then validated by engine builders racing on track and on the drag strip. | |
| FERREA Racing Components was founded in 1978 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, by two engine builders of Argentinian origin. The company forges its valves in one piece from steel bar and finishes them on CNC; it supplies NASCAR and dragster engines. |
The groove is the notch at the top of the stem that receives the collets holding the valve.

| Size | Standard size 33.85 mm head (SUPERTECH) or 33.9 mm (FERREA), for seats still at factory size. | +1 mm oversize 34.85 mm head (SUPERTECH) or 34.9 mm (FERREA): more air in, about 10 to 12 cfm per mm of head according to FERREA. Seats to be cut; also takes up seats already reground. |
| Grooves | 3 grooves Original-type fitting, road use; new collets recommended. | Single groove Collets clamp the stem on one stronger groove: single groove collets required. |
