The BMW Z4 18i E89 uses the 2.0 16V turbo N20B20 four-cylinder in its 156hp form, built from 2013 to 2016. Two uprated references currently cover its bottom end, and the first of them is the connecting rod.
The set of four ZRP forged connecting rods is machined from 4340 steel with an I-beam section, supplied with its ARP 2000 con rod bolts. It is listed for the N20B20 and for the N26B20. The tri-metal big end bearing set completes the rotating assembly, in ACL RACE without coating or in KING RACING with the pMaxKote treatment, part numbers 4B1584H and CR222GPC.
On this engine the standard rod reaches its limit long before the crankshaft does.
