The VAG EA888 Gen 3 four-cylinder engine

The third-generation EA888 (Gen 3) is a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine from the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda). It powers the Audi A3 8V, A4 B8, A5 and TT, the Seat Leon, the Skoda Octavia III and Superb III, and the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, Passat B8 and Touran, among others. The manufacturer lists one set of thrust washers in standard size for the engine codes CJEB, CJSA, CJSB and CJSC.

Thrust washers

Thrust washers sit on each side of a crankshaft main bearing. They take the clutch thrust every time the pedal is pressed and set the crankshaft end play. One version in standard size: a one-pair set in lead-free aluminium.

The aluminium version, lead-free Al20Sn1Cu alloy, is certified by its manufacturer to meet or exceed the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
