In 2010 the BMW 335i E90 and E92 moved to the single-turbo 3.0 24V N55B30, still rated 306hp.
The change of block shows in the catalogue. Forged pistons stop at 84.5mm bore, with an intermediate 84.02mm step and compression ratios from 9:1 to 10.3:1, and the N55 gets a SUPERTECH range the N54 never had. Forged connecting rods are limited to ZRP and MANLEY, with no BOOSTLINE, and no camshaft is listed for this engine. The DINAN performance air filter also changes part number, D401-0039 instead of the D401-0035 used on the twin-turbo. Tri-metal bearings, valves, springs and the head gasket complete the page.
