Set of 16 reinforced inlet valves for the TOYOTA V8 2UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE.
The 2UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE are Toyota 32-valve V8s with twin overhead camshafts per bank and shim tappets. The 4.7 litre 2UZ-FE powers the Land Cruiser 100 and 200, the 4Runner IV, the Sequoia and the Tundra; the 4.3 litre 3UZ-FE is fitted to the Aristo, Celsior, Crown and Soarer.
Their 16 original inlet valves, Toyota 13711-50060 then 13711-50070, have a 5.470 to 5.485 mm stem and a 95.05 mm length; collets 90913-03028 hold them. A supercharger, sharper camshafts or a track build expose them to more heat and impact.
The inlet valve lets fresh air in, drops back onto its seat at every closing and slides in its guide, between 400 and 550 °C. In that range the chrome-silicon steel of ordinary valves falls from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C, 50 % of its strength lost.
The SUPERTECH TIVN-1093D-16 is black nitrided, which hardens the stem surface and limits wear in the guide; its head is dished and its stem is undercut below the head.
Its 36 mm head is 1.5 mm larger, with stem and length unchanged: the flow area grows and the cylinder fills better, provided the 16 inlet seats are machined to that diameter.

The 36 mm head requires the 16 inlet seats to be machined to its size before reassembly.
Valve clearance is set with shims: after replacing the valves, check it and adjust the shims.
SUPERTECH VS-T5.5I-8 valve stem seals come in sets of 8: two sets cover one engine.
