Set of 6 reinforced exhaust valves for the Nissan L28E and L28ET.
The L28E and L28ET are the 2.8 litre, single overhead camshaft, 12-valve inline sixes of Nissan's L series, fuel injected, naturally aspirated or turbocharged (280ZXT). They are found in the 280Z and 280ZX, and in the Cedric, Laurel, Leopard and Skyline R30.
Their cylinder head carries one exhaust valve per cylinder, 6 in all. In standard size, the valve offered has a 35 mm head, an 8 mm stem and a 115.25 mm overall length.
The exhaust valve head sees all the burnt gases go by: its metal sits between 760 and 870 °C on a naturally aspirated engine and passes 1,000 °C with a turbo. The seat removes about 75 % of this heat, the guide 20 %. An EV8 family exhaust steel is the benchmark: 550 MPa at 600 °C, 300 MPa at 800 °C. Beyond that, the head fatigues, distorts and loses its seal.
The valve offered is made of Super Alloy, a nickel-based alloy, and belongs to the Competition Plus range, which brings 20 % more hot strength and 25 % longer seat life.
The F1842P takes the head to 36 mm: the burnt gases leave faster and scavenging improves, with about 10 to 12 cfm of extra flow per millimetre of head. The 6 exhaust seats are then machined to that diameter.

| F1842P*6 | FERREA | +1 mm | 36 mm | 8 mm | 115.25 mm | Super Alloy (nickel-based) |
F1841P is at standard size and F1842P at +1 mm oversize, both in Super Alloy, for the 280ZX L28ET (L28E turbo).

Check the lock groove against the collets you reuse before refitting the springs.
At 35 mm the seats keep their diameter; with the F1842P, the 6 exhaust seats are cut to 36 mm.
Both part numbers have an 8 mm stem and a 115.25 mm overall length: the original guides are fine if they are within tolerance.
| FERREA, founded in 1978, makes its valves in Florida and Argentina. For the L28E and L28ET it offers a Super Alloy exhaust valve, in standard size and +1 mm. |

OEM part number (exhaust valve):
An L28 cylinder head on the bench is the right time to replace the inlet valves and the valve stem seals as well.
