Set of 6 reinforced exhaust valves for the Nissan Patrol GR Y61 4.5 TB45E.
The TB45E is the 4.5 litre, 12-valve inline six petrol engine of the Nissan Patrol GR Y61, a high-torque unit built for towing and off-road driving.
With two valves per cylinder, its head has only 6 exhaust valves, all of large diameter. In standard size, the valve offered has a 38.1 mm head, a 7.94 mm stem and a 118.8 mm overall length. Towing, sand and long climbs keep them under heavy load for long periods.
On a naturally aspirated engine the metal of the exhaust head runs between 760 and 870 °C, and beyond 1,000 °C with forced induction. About 75 % of this heat leaves through the seat and 20 % through the guide. An EV8 family exhaust steel gives a benchmark: 550 MPa at 600 °C, 300 MPa at 800 °C. A head as wide as the TB45E's, loaded for long periods, ends up fatigued, distorted and no longer sealing its seat.
The valve offered belongs to the Competition Plus range, in stainless steel with a chrome stem, which brings 20 % more hot strength and 25 % longer seat life.
The F2226P enlarges the head to 39.1 mm: the burnt gases escape faster and scavenging improves, with about 10 to 12 cfm of extra flow per millimetre of head. The 6 exhaust seats are then machined to that diameter.

The lock groove is square: before refitting the springs, check that it matches the collets you reuse.
At 38.1 mm the seats keep their diameter; with the F2226P, the 6 exhaust seats are cut to 39.1 mm.
Both part numbers share the same 7.94 mm stem and 118.8 mm overall length: the original guides are fine if they are within tolerance.
