Set of 8 reinforced exhaust valves for the Nissan CA18DET.
The CA18DET is Nissan's twin-cam 16-valve 1.8 turbo of the S13 generation 200SX and 180SX, built from 1988.
It has 8 exhaust valves, two per cylinder, just upstream of the turbocharger. SUPERTECH offers them with a 28.15 mm head, a 5.95 mm stem and an 89.3 mm overall length.
On a naturally aspirated engine, the head of an exhaust valve rises to 760 to 870 °C; on a turbocharged engine like the CA18DET, it passes 1,000 °C. The seat removes about 75 % of it and the guide about 20 %. EV8 family steel, the reference used for the original, drops from 550 MPa at 600 °C to 300 MPa at 800 °C: the overheated head fatigues, distorts and the seal is lost.
The NEVI-1001-8 is made of Inconel, a nickel-based superalloy that keeps 860 MPa at 732 °C and 554 MPa at 816 °C, about 85 % above EV8 steel around 800 °C; its stem has a chrome coating.
SUPERTECH supplies it in the engine's standard size, a 28.15 mm head: the exhaust seats keep their diameter.
