Set of 8 exhaust valve stem seals for Toyota 3S-GTE and 4A-GE 16V, 6 mm stem.
These 8 seals dress the 6 mm stem exhaust valves of the turbo 3S-GTE (Celica GT-Four ST165, ST185 and ST205, MR2 II SW20, Caldina T21 and T24, 185 to 261 hp) and the 16-valve 4A-GE (Corolla AE86 and AE92, Celica AA63, Carina AT171, Sprinter, Conquest, 115 to 140 hp), built from 1983 to 2007.
Each engine carries 8 exhaust valves, two per cylinder, originally capped by a Toyota seal of the 90913-02xxx series. SUPERTECH's VS-TS6E-8 takes over that role: it sits on the guide and lets only useful oil down to the stem.
On the exhaust of the 3S-GTE, right next to the turbo, and of the 4A-GE, each seal sees far more heat than on the inlet. Once baked and split, it no longer holds oil, which slides down the 8 stems of 6 mm into the 3S-GTE chambers to burn: top-ups become frequent, the AE86 smokes blue at start-up, and carbon fills exhaust valves and ports. Even so, the guide still needs a light film of oil.
SUPERTECH's VS-TS6E, moulded from a Viton (FKM) compound kept for its life on the 8 exhaust valves of the 3S-GTE and 4A-GE; SUPERTECH gives it 204 °C (400 °F) continuous, the hottest band of its range. The 4A-GE seal fits an 11 mm guide around the 6 mm stem, its outside diameter being 13.4 mm. This set of 8 fits an engine's full exhaust; the 3S-GTE inlet takes the polyacrylate (ACM) VS-TS6I.

On the 3S-GTE as on the 4A-GE 16V, the VS-TS6I and VS-TS6E seals are dimensionally identical, but the 8 exhaust valves run clearly hotter than the inlet ones. SUPERTECH therefore keeps the VS-TS6E Viton (FKM) for the exhaust and the VS-TS6I polyacrylate (ACM) for the 4A-GE inlet.
