Set of 8 reinforced exhaust valves for the Toyota 4A-GE 16v.
The 16-valve 4A-GE is Toyota's twin-cam 1.6 litre of the AE86 and AE92 Corolla, the A6 Celica and the T17 Carina, widely used in club racing and historic rallying.
It has 8 exhaust valves, two per cylinder. Toyota lists them as 13715-16010 and 13715-16020, with a 5.964 to 5.979 mm stem. The reinforced valves have a 5.97 mm stem and a 99.75 mm length, with a 25.5 mm head at standard size or 27.5 mm at +2 mm.
In naturally aspirated use, the head of an exhaust valve rises to 760 to 870 °C, and passes 1,000 °C on a forced induction engine. About 75 % of that heat leaves through the seat and 20 % through the guide. EV8 family steel, used as the reference for the original, only holds 300 MPa at 800 °C against 550 MPa at 600 °C: repeated overheating, fatigue, a distorted head and a leaking seat follow.
Both part numbers are black nitrided stainless steel: the nitrided layer hardens the surface and slows stem wear in the guide.
The TEVN-1020-8 takes the head to 27.5 mm, 2 mm more than standard: burnt gases leave faster and the cylinder empties better, provided the 8 seats are machined to that diameter.

Before reassembly, check that the collets suit the groove of the SUPERTECH valves.
The TEVN-1019-8 fits seats reground at standard size; the TEVN-1020-8 needs seats machined to 27.5 mm.
Both sets have the same 5.97 mm stem and the same 99.75 mm length.
