  • Forged pistons for conversions FFSA < 1400 cm³ – engines PSA 1.6 16v TU5J4 / TU5JP4 (re-sleeving, pin 18 mm)

    Objective: to reduce the bore of the TU5J4/TU5JP4 by re-sleeving in order to target a displacement < 1400 cm³ depending on FFSA categories. See calculation note below.

    FFSA displacement calculation note (4 cyl.): Displacement = (π/4) × bore² × Stroke × 4.

    Original TU5 stroke: 82.0 mm. To achieve a displacement < 1400 cm³, a bore ≤ 73.5 mm is required with the original stroke.

    Examples (stroke 82.0): Ø78.0 → ~1567 cm³; Ø76.0 → ~1488 cm³ (still > 1400).

    Optional: with stroke reduced to 77.0 mm, Ø76.0 → ~1397 cm³.

    Practical consequence: these "pin 18" pistons are suitable for a resleeved installation and either for a specific crankshaft/stroke configuration or a final bore ≤ 73.5 mm (dedicated pistons not listed here).

    Plan for connecting rods/pandit ends in 18 mm (or bushings) and check compression heights.
