Set of 10 reinforced exhaust valves for the Ford Focus ST and RS 2.5.
The 2.5 turbo 20-valve five-cylinder of the second generation Ford Focus ST and RS (codes HYDA and JZDA) derives from the B5254T.
It has 10 exhaust valves, two per cylinder. The reinforced valves have a 5.95 mm stem, a 103.3 mm length and three grooves, with a 27 mm head or a 28 mm head at +1 mm.
With the turbo on boost, the head of an exhaust valve passes 1,000 °C, against 760 to 870 °C on a naturally aspirated engine. The seat removes about 75 % of it, the guide about 20 %. EV8 family steel, taken as the reference for the original, goes from 550 MPa at 600 °C to 300 MPa at 800 °C: the overheated head fatigues, distorts and loses its seal.
Both part numbers are Inconel, a nickel-based superalloy that keeps 860 MPa at 732 °C and 554 MPa at 816 °C, about 85 % more than EV8 steel around 800 °C: the right material for a five-cylinder running higher boost.
The FEVI-1046T-10 takes the head to 28 mm (+1 mm): burnt gases leave faster, provided the 10 exhaust seats are machined to that diameter.

Both part numbers have three grooves ("Triple Groove"): check before reassembly that the collets match.
The FEVI-1045T-10 fits reground seats; the FEVI-1046T-10 needs seats machined to 28 mm.
Both sets have the same 5.95 mm stem and the same 103.3 mm length.
