Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for the LANCIA Delta HF Integrale 16V and Evoluzione and ALFA ROMEO 155 Q4.
The 831 D5.000 and 831 E5.000 are the 2 litre 16-valve turbo four-cylinders of the Lancia Delta HF Integrale: 196 hp on the 16V from 1989 to 1991, then 205 to 215 hp on the Evoluzione I and II, from 1991 to 1994. The AR67203 is the 2 litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 16 valves and twin overhead camshafts of the Alfa Romeo 155 Q4, the four-wheel-drive saloon built from 1992 to 1997 and derived from the Lancia Delta HF Integrale running gear.
The cylinder head carries 8 inlet valves. Raised boost, sharper camshafts or rally and hill climb use put more load on their heads and seats than road driving.
On the inlet side, the valve lets in the air compressed by the turbo, drops back onto its seat every cycle and slides constantly in its guide, between 400 and 550 °C. At these temperatures, ordinary chrome-silicon steel goes from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C: half of its strength, 50 %, is gone.
SUPERTECH makes the LIVN-1001-8 in stainless steel at the standard size: 34.4 mm head, 7 mm stem and 128.8 mm length. It fits on simply reground seats and replaces valves tired by boost or worn by mileage.

On reassembly, check that the collets sit properly in the groove of the SUPERTECH valves and replace any that are marked.
Supplied at the standard size, these valves only need the seats reground, with no cutting to a larger diameter.

The groove is the recess machined at the end of the stem, where the collets holding the upper retainer sit; this engine takes a single version:
