Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for MAZDA and FORD FS.
The FS is Mazda's 2-litre, 16-valve twin-cam four-cylinder, also built as the more powerful FS2C and FSZE. From 1991 to 2006 it powered the 626 GE and GF, the MX-6, the 323 BJ, the Premacy and the MPV, with 115 to 170 hp. It was also fitted to the Ford Telstar 2.0 i from 1993 to 1999.
It has 8 inlet valves, two per cylinder. A sharper camshaft, stiffer springs or a higher rev limit load them well beyond standard use.
An inlet valve lets the fresh charge in, drops back onto its seat at each closing and slides constantly in its guide, at 400 to 550 °C. A common chrome-silicon steel falls there from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C: it loses 50 % of its strength.
SUPERTECH's MAIVN-2002 is made of EV8 stainless steel, which keeps 650 MPa at 500 °C and 550 MPa at 600 °C, 30 % and then 120 % more than chrome-silicon steel. Its black nitride finish hardens the surface and slows stem wear in the guide.
It comes in +1 mm size: 32.5 mm head, 5.97 mm stem and 89.9 mm overall length. The seat opening widens, the cylinder fills better and the engine gains power, provided the 8 inlet seats are machined to that diameter.

Before fitting, the 8 inlet seats are machined to 32.5 mm.
Refit collets in good condition that suit the valve groove, and check their seating before releasing the springs.
| Based in California, SUPERTECH Performance has designed valves, springs and guides for competition for more than thirty years. Batches are checked by ultrasound, X-ray and laser before going into circuit, rally or drag engines. |
The groove is the recess cut at the end of the stem; the collets sit in it to hold the upper retainer. A single part number is offered for this engine:
