Set of 8 reinforced exhaust valves for the Nissan SR20DE.
The SR20DE is Nissan's naturally aspirated 2.0 litre four-cylinder with twin overhead camshafts and 16 valves. In the 1990s it powered the GTI versions of the 100NX and Sunny III, the Almera GTi, the Primera 2.0 and the Serena people carrier.
Its cylinder head carries 8 exhaust valves. In standard size, the valve offered has a 30.15 mm head, a 5.94 mm stem and a 102.4 mm overall length.
Every cycle sends the burnt gases across the exhaust valve head: its metal sits between 760 and 870 °C on a naturally aspirated engine and goes beyond 1,000 °C as soon as a turbo is added. The seat absorbs about 75 % of this heat and the guide about 20 %. An EV8 family exhaust steel is the benchmark: 550 MPa at 600 °C, 300 MPa at 800 °C. A head that runs too hot fatigues, distorts and ends up leaking.
The valve offered is made of Super Alloy, a nickel-based alloy, and belongs to the Competition Plus range, which brings 20 % more hot strength and 25 % longer seat life.
The F1870P takes the head to 31.15 mm: the burnt gases leave faster and scavenging improves, with about 10 to 12 cfm of extra flow per millimetre of head, with the exhaust seats machined to that diameter.

Before refitting the springs, check the valve lock groove against the collets you reuse.
At 30.15 mm the seats keep their diameter; with the F1870P, the 8 exhaust seats are cut to 31.15 mm.
Both part numbers share the same 5.94 mm stem and 102.4 mm overall length: the original guides are fine if they are within tolerance.
| FERREA, founded in 1978, makes its valves in Florida and Argentina. For the SR20DE it offers a Super Alloy exhaust valve, in standard size and +1 mm. |
Only the size separates the two versions:

An open SR20DE cylinder head is the time to replace the inlet valves and the valve stem seals as well.
