Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for CHRYSLER Neon SRT-4 EDV.
The EDV is the 2.4 litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 16 valves and twin overhead camshafts that powers the Neon SRT-4, the sportiest version of the second-generation Neon, built from 2003 to 2005.
It has 8 inlet valves, two per cylinder. More boost, sharper camshafts or higher revs increase the impact on the seats and the heat in the heads.
The inlet valve lets through the air compressed by the turbo, closes onto its seat every cycle and slides constantly in its guide, at 400 to 550 °C. An ordinary chrome-silicon steel falls there from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C: 50 % less strength.
FERREA offers its Competition Plus range for the EDV: a stainless steel made for heat and a chrome-plated stem that slides better in the guide. The maker quotes 20 % more hot and fatigue strength and a seat that lasts 25 % longer.
The +1 mm version takes the head from 34.81 to 35.81 mm with stem and length unchanged: air flows past the seat more freely, the cylinders fill better and the engine gains power, once the 8 inlet seats are machined to that diameter.
| Part number | Brand | Size | Head Ø | Stem Ø | Length | Grooves | Material |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| F2143P*8 | FERREA | Standard | 34.81 mm | 5.96 mm | 111.7 mm | 1 | Stainless steel, chrome-plated stem |
| F2144P*8 | FERREA | +1 mm | 35.81 mm | 5.96 mm | 111.7 mm | 1 | Stainless steel, chrome-plated stem |
F2143P is standard size and F2144P is +1 mm; both have a 5.96 mm stem, a 111.7 mm length and a single groove.
FERREA designs these single-groove valves to be fitted with other FERREA valvetrain parts.

With a single groove, these valves need collets designed for a single groove, which clamp the stem; FERREA intends them for its own valvetrain parts.
F2143P fits original seats that have been recut; F2144P requires the 8 inlet seats to be machined to 35.81 mm.
| A racing valve specialist since 1978, FERREA produces them in Florida and Argentina. The Competition Plus pairs a heat-resistant stainless steel with a chrome-plated stem, for boosted engines on the road and on the track. |
The groove is the recess at the end of the stem that takes the collets holding the upper retainer; both valves offered have only one and differ only by the head:

| Size | Standard, 34.81 mm Original seats kept or recut. F2143P*8. | +1 mm, 35.81 mm 10 to 12 cfm more per mm of head, seats machined; also restores seats already reground. F2144P*8. |
