This set fits the 5.5 mm stem intake valves of Toyota 16-valve four-cylinders: the 1ZZ-FE of the Corolla, Avensis, Celica, MR2 and RAV 4, the 2ZZ-GE of the Celica, Corolla and Lotus Elise, Exige and 2-Eleven, the 2AZ-FE of the Camry, RAV 4, Previa, Scion tC and Lexus ES, the 2TR-FE of the Hilux, Tacoma and Land Cruiser Prado, and the 1AR-FE of the Highlander, Venza, Sienna and Lexus RX.

Each head takes 8 intake valves, two per cylinder. The original seal caps the guide and only gives the stem the oil it needs; Toyota supplies it under several numbers depending on version and period: 90913-02101, 90913-02111 or 90913-02112 on the 1ZZ-FE, 2AZ-FE and 2TR-FE, 90913-02114 and 90913-02115 on the 2ZZ-GE.

SUPERTECH inlet valve stem seals

The stem seal guards the gap between the oil-soaked top of the head and the intake port: it holds almost everything back yet keeps a light film so the stem slides in its guide without seizing. When the rubber shrinks with age or heat, oil gets past: rising consumption, a blue plume from cold or when pulling away from idle, sooted valves and plugs.

At SUPERTECH the intake gets polyacrylate (ACM), a well-made rubber, sized for a 5.5 mm stem and a 10.3 mm outside diameter guide. These 8 pieces equip the intake of a complete head; the exhaust, exposed to stronger heat, needs a high-temperature compound offered separately.

Inlet or exhaust?

Shared dimensions, separate materials: VS-T5.5-I polyacrylate (ACM) fills the intake, VS-T5.5-E Viton (FKM) the exhaust, where the valves face the strongest heat. As stated by SUPERTECH, the first withstands 177 °C (350 °F) and the second 204 °C (400 °F) continuous. A 16-valve Toyota four-cylinder calls for 8 of them on each side.
