Supertech Valves are manufactured from a forged part which is then CNC machined for optimal precision. They then receive a Thermal Treatment (different depending on the application of the Valve) and are ground again (Super-finishing Process). The Supertech Valves are controlled by different means such as Ultrasound, X-rays, laser measurement.

For more than three decades, Supertech has strived to find the most suitable materials for each Valve and each application in order to increase reliability. There are therefore different valve materials such as stainless steel, inconel, titanium, sodium (the latter is present in the valve tail and allows better heat dissipation).

the Intake valvesfor motorHonda B16Aare offered in"flat" and "dish", two types of Valve head profiles. These terms refer to the shape of thetipof the Valve, that is to say the part of the Valve which comes into contact with the combustion chamber.

    1. Flat valves:

    • The term "flat" means that the head of the Valve isplate. There is no concave or convex shape. The surface of the Valve which comes into contact with the combustion chamber is therefore perfectlyplane.
    • Flat Valves are often used in engines with arelatively flat combustion chamber, where the engine geometry allows for better air circulation and more efficient combustion.
    • This type of Valve is generally preferred for engines that haveHigher Compressionsor for those looking for aoptimal performanceat high engine speeds.

    2. Dish valves:

    • On the other hand, a "dish" Valve (or "dish face" in English) has aconcave shape, that is, the Valve head is slightlydugor "bowl" shaped. This shape helps to better direct airflow into the combustion chamber and can provide advantages in certain types of engine configurations.
    • A "dish" Valve is generally used in engines with aDeeper combustion chamber, or for engines seeking a better fuel/air mixture or better combustion efficiency at lower or intermediate speeds.
    • This Profile can also influence thecompressionof the engine and is sometimes used tooptimize suctionor thefourth dimensionof the combustion chamber.

    Differences and applications:

    • Flat valve: These Valves are often chosen for modified engines or stroke engines that operate athigh speedsand which have combustion chambersoptimizedfor better circulation of Exhaust and Intake gases. They are suitable for engines withhigh performance, where every millimeter of airflow counts to maximize high-rpm power.

    • Dish valve: Valves with concave head can be used for engines thatoperate at more moderate speedsor for applications where better airflow control at low rpm is required. They can also be a good choice for engines where thecompressionmust be slightly reduced or to optimize the management of the combustion chamber in engines with characteristics ofdifferent combustion.

    In summary:

    • Flat valves: Flat Valve head, ideal for engines with flat combustion chambers and use at high revs.
    • Dish valves: Concave Valve head, ideal for engines with a deeper combustion chamber or where optimization of airflow at medium or low revs is desired.
