Set of 8 inlet and exhaust valve stem seals for Ford and Mazda 2.5 L5-VE, BGDA, BGDC, S7GA, S7GB, 5.5 mm stem.
This set of 8 fits the 5.5 mm stem valves of the Ford Duratec / Mazda MZR 2.5 16-valve four-cylinder: L5-VE in the Mazda 3 (BL), 5 (CW), 6 (GH) and CX-7 (ER), 159 to 170 hp, and S7GA, S7GB, BGDA, BGDC in the Ford Transit Connect 2.5 and Kuga III hybrids, from 2007.
This 2.5 block lines up 8 inlet and 8 exhaust valves, capped by one and the same integral seal at SUPERTECH. The set of 8 equips one row; two sets cover all 16 valves. The seal fits over the guide and lets down only the oil the stem needs.
On this twin-cam 2.5, whether in a Mazda 6 or a plug-in Kuga, each seal keeps the 5.5 mm stem lubricated without letting oil run into the chamber. Worn by heat cycles, the lip shrinks and leaks: the L5-VE's dipstick falls service after service, bluish smoke shows on the first start or as the 2.5 leaves a long spell at idle, and its 16 valves and 4 plugs foul.
SUPERTECH produces the VSI-D5.5E, an integral Viton (FKM) seal cut for the 2.5's 11 mm guide and its 5.5 mm stem. Each of the 8 pieces can go to the inlet or the exhaust alike, the very same part equipping both sides of the L5-VE.

On the L5-VE, S7GA, S7GB, BGDA and BGDC, SUPERTECH lists only one part: the VSI-D5.5E integral Viton (FKM) seal fits the 8 inlet valves just as the 8 exhaust ones, 5.5 mm stem and 11 mm guide throughout. By SUPERTECH's rating this Viton holds 204 °C (400 °F) continuously, a valuable margin on the exhaust side. Count 2 sets of 8 per engine.
