The BMW and MINI N12, N13, N14 and N18 petrol engines

The 1.6 L four-cylinder petrol engines of the N12, N13, N14 and N18 families power the MINI Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works of the R55 to R61 series, as well as the BMW 1 Series (F20, F21) and 3 Series (F30, F31, F80), among others. The manufacturers list two thrust washer part numbers, both in standard size: ACL 1T7788 and King TW1046AM. The engine codes listed by King are given in the manufacturer notes below; ACL publishes no application for 1T7788.

Thrust washers

Thrust washers sit on each side of a crankshaft main bearing. They take the clutch thrust every time the pedal is pressed and set the crankshaft end play. Two versions in standard size: identical half washers on one side, and a one-pair set in lead-free aluminium on the other.

The aluminium version, lead-free Al20Sn1Cu alloy, is certified by its manufacturer to meet or exceed the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.

	King Engine Bearings, an Israeli engine bearing manufacturer since the 1960s, offers its OE Replacement range thrust washers in lead-free aluminium bi-metal.
