    Designed and manufactured in Italy, the reinforced Cylinder head Gaskets from the Athena brand are available in two forms:

    • MLS:these Gasketsare made up of several sheets of stainless steel superimposed and riveted together. The stainless steel sheets are laser cut for increased precision and receive an elastomer-based surface treatment (NBR or FKM). In order to obtain optimal sealing, the contours of the cylinders and water and oil passages are stamped/embossed. Forthe most extreme applications, reinforcement at the level of the cylinders is added.
    • O-Ring:these GasketsConsist of a steel sheet covered with asbestos-free aramid fiber and an AISI 304 stainless steel ring(at the cylinder level). A bead of silicone applied to critical points (water and oil passages) ensures maximum sealing of the Cylinder head Gasket. This type of Gasket is mandatory for heavily supercharged engines.

    Founded by Bob Gorman in 1989, the Cometic brand is recognized worldwide as a leader in the design and manufacturing of reinforced Cylinder Head Gaskets. These, like all of the brand's products, are made in the United States. The Cometic reinforced Cylinder head Gaskets are made up of several stamped stainless steel sheets held together by rivets. There are three types of Cometic Cylinder head Gaskets:

    This technology requires less tightening of the cylinder head screws, thus reducing bore distortion and obtaining better load distribution across the entire gasket.

    • MLS:Equivalent to MLS Athena Gaskets, these multi-layer Gaskets (between 3 and 5 stainless steel sheets depending on the thickness of the Gasket) have stampings around the cylinders and fluid passages.

    • MLX:This Gasket has an identical base to the MLS Gasket but a reinforcement (folded sheet) at the level of the cylinders and a special high temperature Coating are added.

    • HP:This is a Gasket MLX on whichan extra layer was addedwhose aim is to reinforce the tightness of the cylinders (see below)
