Set of 12 reinforced exhaust valves for the Toyota 1FZ-FE.
The 1FZ-FE is the 4.5 litre 24-valve straight six of the Toyota Land Cruiser 70, 80 and 100, a high-torque engine built for towing and off-road driving.
Its 12 original exhaust valves (13715-66030) have a 6.97 mm stem and a 97.9 mm overall length; they endure long spells of heavy load, when the engine tows hard or crawls at low rpm off road.
Naturally aspirated, the metal of the exhaust head reaches 760 to 870 °C, and more than 1,000 °C under boost. About 75 % of that heat goes through the seat and 20 % through the guide. An EV8 family steel gives the order of magnitude: 550 MPa at 600 °C, 300 MPa at 800 °C; beyond that, the head overheats, fatigues and stops sealing.
FERREA offers two materials for this engine: its Super Alloy, a nickel-based alloy intended for boosted engines, at standard size and +1 mm, and a stainless steel version with chrome stem at +1 mm.
With the +1 mm oversize, the head grows from 32 to 33 mm: burnt gases leave faster, with a quoted gain of 10 to 12 cfm per millimetre of head, and the 12 exhaust seats are machined to the new diameter.

Before reassembly, check that the collets suit the groove of the chosen valves.
At 32 mm the seats stay as they are; with a 33 mm head, the 12 exhaust seats are machined to the new size.
All three part numbers keep the 6.97 mm stem; their length is 98.3 mm.
