The valve train is covered by a CATCAMS Sport camshaft, a set of 8 CATCAMS single valve springs and vernier cam pulleys from CATCAMS and KENT CAMS. The rotating assembly takes ACL RACE and KING RACING tri-metal big end and main bearings, offered in STANDARD, in HX clearance and in +0.30mm and +0.50mm repair sizes, together with ACL RACE thrust washers. Uprated VIBRA-TECHNICS engine and gearbox mounts keep unwanted movement in check. This eight-valve block carries no forged pistons and no forged connecting rods in our range.

    Three lines of parts are listed for the 1.4 16V ET3J4 fitted to the CITROEN C2 from 2005 to 2009. The CATCAMS Sport camshafts come in fourteen profiles, part numbers 4902401 to 4902509, so that lift and duration can be matched to road, rally or circuit use. The matching kit of uprated CATCAMS valve springs holds those profiles at the engine speeds the standard springs will not take. The uprated VIBRA-TECHNICS engine and gearbox mounts, available in a road version and a competition version, hold the drivetrain in place; the torque mount is the one part on this page that is specific to the car rather than to the block.

    The 109hp TU5JP4 is the best served engine in the C2 range, and this page carries a full build. The ZRP forged connecting rods come with 18mm, 19.46mm and 19.50mm gudgeon pins, in H, H-Lite, I and I-HD bodies, with ARP2000 or L19 bolts. Wössner and Wiseco forged pistons cover 78.5mm to 80mm bores for compression ratios from 9:1 to 13:1, and the ZRP forged crankshaft completes the bottom end. On the cylinder head, the SUPERTECH, FERREA and CATCAMS valves, in stainless steel or Inconel, work with CATCAMS springs, cam followers and pulleys, SUPERTECH collets and a COMETIC MLS head gasket in 79.0mm.

    The TU5JP4S of the C2 VTS gets parts of its own. The CATCAMS Sport camshafts come in four profiles made for the VTS, part numbers 1323701, 1323703, 1323704 and 1323705, and are backed by a kit of uprated CATCAMS valve springs. Forged pistons are chosen between the JE PISTONS FULL ROUND range at a 12.2:1 compression ratio in +0.20mm oversize and the Wössner and Wiseco ranges, with ZRP forged connecting rods on a 19.46mm gudgeon pin. ARP2000 head studs, ACL RACE and KING RACING tri-metal bearings, SUPERTECH collets and a POWERFLEX bush pack complete the build.
