CNC machining is carried out to within microns, after which the diameter, thickness and width of each ACL Race Series tri-metal bearing shell are checked by metrology. ACL Race Series bearings therefore give a reliable and consistent fit in your performance engine. Each ACL Race Series tri-metal bearing shell is in fact made up of four layers:

- SAE1010 steel on the outside
- 0.3mm copper alloy
- 0.0001mm nickel
- 0.013 to 0.018mm copper alloy
