    Unlike many of its competitors, who machine their cams from cast steel, CATCAMS machines its camshafts directly from billet, which makes them significantly more resistant. In most cases, CATCAMS camshafts are hollow in order to reduce their weight.

    CATCAMS's expertise in camshafts and their accessories (valve springs, mechanical cam followers, vernier cam pulley...) has been recognised worldwide for many years thanks to precise know-how and study of engines and applications. Indeed, each camshaft profile has been developed according to the specifics of each engine as well as its use/application (road, sport, rally, track day, circuit...).

    Two parameters are important when choosing a camshaft profile: valve lift and angle (duration). An increase in opening times increases power/torque, while an increase in lift optimises power at high revs.
