This kit is for the K20A3 and K24A3, Honda four-cylinder engines of 2.0 and 2.4 litres with twin overhead camshafts, 16 valves and i-VTEC variable timing. They sit in the seventh-generation Civic Sport, the base Acura RSX and the Accord VII 2.4.

SUPERTECH reinforced valve spring kit

The spring brings the valve back to its seat and keeps it against the cam. At high revs the valve's inertia outruns a stock spring: it leaves the cam, hops on closing and risks touching the piston. More firmness cures the float.

At 39.80 mm installed, the kit shows 365 N at the seat and 1059 N at 12 mm lift, with 15.1 mm net lift.

The SUPERTECH kit gathers the M1007D double springs, the RET-K20A3/T1 titanium upper retainers and the SEAT-HKA3 lower spring seats. The original collets stay in place.

On a shut valve, installed height spans from the lower seat that carries the spring to the upper retainer clamped by the collets. This kit is designed for 39.80 mm. Our brands

SUPERTECH is a Californian firm founded by racing people. Its range covers springs, retainers and valves for engines built for competition. Alloy steel wire (chromium, silicon, vanadium) is coiled, then inspected by ultrasound and radiography before delivery.

How to choose

A higher seat load keeps the valve glued to the cam far into the rpm band. The red line can then move up, a livelier cam profile becomes possible, and a boosted K20 or K24 stays under control. The double spring in this kit, two nested springs, spreads the effort and checks its own vibrations: it suits demanding road and circuit builds. The maximum net lift is 15.1 mm; keep the cam well clear of it, and compare your lobe lift with that figure before ordering. Exceeding the load needed wears the lobes faster: adjusting beats oversizing.

Choosing the pressure	The lbs figure expresses seat load: 82 lbs, i.e. 365 N, with 1059 N reached at 12 mm of lift. Before deciding, measure the cam lift and the revs you are after: needless load improves nothing and strains the rockers.
