These guides fit the exhaust side of the BMW S58B30 inline six, the 3.0 litre twin turbo 24-valve engine of the M3 G80, M4 G82, X3 M, X4 M, the M2 G87 and the Alpina B3 and B4. The engine has twelve exhaust valves, so the kit gathers twelve guides.

BMW gives the original exhaust valve a head diameter of 28.5 mm and a 5.95 mm stem. FERREA offers a guide here for a 6.0 mm stem. The inlet guides, with a 5.0 mm stem, are sold on a separate page.

At the exhaust ports, the guide lives in the hot gas stream, plentiful on a twin turbo engine. It keeps the valve true to its seat, leads the stem heat towards the head and retains the seal; with a worn bore the valve knocks, closes poorly and oil escapes to the exhaust as blue smoke. Lap after lap, the twin turbo puts these guides through hard use.
