Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for OPEL C20XE and C20LET.
The C20XE is the 2-litre 16-valve twin-cam engine of the sporting Opels of the late 1980s and 1990s: Kadett E GSI, Vectra A, Calibra and Astra F GSI. Its turbo version, the C20LET, powers the four-wheel-drive Calibra and Vectra Turbo.
It has 8 inlet valves, originally 90322694, with a 33 mm head, a 7 mm stem and an overall length of 104.9 mm. A sharper camshaft, a higher rev limit or more boost load them more.
An inlet valve lets the fresh charge through, closes onto its seat every cycle and slides constantly in its guide, at 400 to 550 °C. A standard chrome-silicon steel falls there from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C: 50 % of its strength lost.
The SUPERTECH valve is EV8 stainless steel, which keeps 650 MPa at 500 °C and 550 MPa at 600 °C, 30 % then 120 % better than chrome-silicon steel. Its black nitride treatment hardens the stem surface and slows wear in the guide; the head is flat.
Offered at +1 mm, it takes the head from 33 to 34 mm: air flows past the seat more freely, the cylinder fills better and the engine gains power, once the 8 inlet seats are machined to that diameter.

With its 3 grooves, the SUPERTECH valve keeps the original arrangement; new collets such as KPR-VW7-T for 7 mm stems are recommended.
The 34 mm head requires all 8 inlet seats to be machined to that diameter.

The groove is the recess at the end of the stem where the collets hold the upper retainer. On the C20XE the valve offered is chosen as follows:
