Torque and bolt stretch

ARP 2000 bolts are tightened to 61 Nm, or by stretch control between 0.140 and 0.152 mm. The optional ARP L19 bolts are tightened to 67.8 Nm, or by stretch control between 0.152 and 0.165 mm. Measuring stretch with a dial indicator remains the most reliable method: it reflects the real tension in the bolt, whereas torque depends on thread friction.
