    This kit fits the inlet side of Honda's 2.4-litre K24 engines, the K24Z2, K24Z3 and K24Z7, found in the Accord, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey as well as the Acura TSX and ILX.

    A 16-valve four-cylinder head needs 8 inlet guides. For this role the Honda catalogue lists only the oversize 12204-PNA-305, and the FERREA guides in the kit are made for valves with a 5.5 mm stem.

    FERREA copper bronze inlet valve guides

    The stem of each inlet valve slides inside a bronze guide driven into the head. At every closing this guide returns the valve to the middle of its seat, lets some stem heat flow into the head and supports the stem seal. When it has worn, the valve closes crooked, oil is sucked into the combustion chamber, blue smoke shows and compression drops.

    According to the FERREA catalogue, the copper and bronze alloy is of American origin, and the brand's own heat treatment improves heat dissipation, temperature tolerance, wear resistance and lubricity. CNC machining to tight tolerances makes them suitable for valves in titanium or stainless steel. Each kit includes eight guides, standard or +0.025 mm.

    Standard or oversize?

    FERREA offers the standard size and +0.025 mm (0.001"), the latter intended for heads where the guide seat was bored out beforehand.
