Set of 12 reinforced exhaust valves for the first generation Subaru EZ30.
The EZ30 is Subaru's 3.0 litre, 24-valve flat six. Its first generation powers the Legacy III and the Outback from 1998 to 2003, before the arrival of the version with variable inlet lift.
Its two cylinder heads hold 12 exhaust valves. SUPERTECH offers them at standard size with a 30.5 mm head, a 5.45 mm stem and a 105.25 mm length.
The metal of an exhaust valve head runs between 760 and 870 °C on a naturally aspirated engine like the EZ30, and goes past 1,000 °C as soon as a supercharger or a turbo is added. The seat removes about 75 % of that heat and the guide about 20 %. An EV8 family steel, the benchmark used for the original, drops from 550 MPa at 600 °C to 300 MPa at 800 °C: the head heats up, fatigues, distorts and the seat seal deteriorates.
The SEVI-1043D-12 is Inconel, a nickel-based superalloy that keeps 860 MPa at 732 °C and 554 MPa at 816 °C, about 85 % more than EV8 steel around 800 °C: a useful margin on a six-cylinder run hard at high rpm or with forced induction.

On reassembly, check that the collets engage properly in the groove of the valves.
At standard size, the 12 exhaust seats are simply reground before fitting.
Replace the valve stem seals at the same time and fit the 12 valves from the same set.
