This kit brings together the exhaust side guides of the cylinder heads of the V6 in the first-generation Honda and Acura NSX, in 3.0 litre (C30A3, C30A4) and 3.2 litre (C32B1, C32B2) form.

The 12 exhaust valves each slide in a guide pressed into the cylinder head; this kit replaces all of them.

SUPERTECH manganese bronze exhaust valve guides

The exhaust guide holds the exhaust valve square to its seat, drains the intense heat received by the stem into the cylinder head and keeps the seal in place. As it wears, it lets the valve rattle: it no longer closes cleanly, oil runs towards the manifold and the engine smokes blue, uses oil and loses compression.

The manganese bronze from which SUPERTECH cuts these guides is a copper alloy which, according to the brand, conducts heat a great deal better than the sintered guide fitted as standard. Often installed with reinforced valves, they come as a set of 12 for the whole exhaust side of the V6; the inlet has its own page.

Made of copper, zinc, manganese, aluminium and iron, this alloy joins great mechanical robustness to sound resistance against friction and oxidation, which explains its use in bushings and guide elements subjected to substantial loads.
