Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for TOYOTA 2RZ-FE 2.4 and 3RZ-FE 2.7 (Tacoma, Hilux, 4Runner, Land Cruiser).
The 2RZ-FE (2.4 litre) and 3RZ-FE (2.7 litre) are Toyota's 16-valve twin-cam petrol fours, from 140 to 152 hp. They power the Tacoma and 4Runner from 1995 to 2004, the Hilux, the T100, the Land Cruiser 90 and Prado and the Granvia.
Each engine has 8 Toyota 13711-75060 inlet valves, then 13711-75070 on some 3RZ-FE from 1999 to 2007, with a 5.97 mm stem and a 103.45 mm length, held by 90913-03021 collets. Sharper camshafts, a supercharger or a raised rev limit load them well beyond stock use.
At every turn of the cam, the inlet valve opens under the push of the tappet, comes back to strike its seat and slides in its guide, dozens of times per second at high revs. It runs between 400 and 550 °C, where the original chrome-silicon steel drops from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C: 50 % of its strength is gone.
SUPERTECH valves are made from a racing stainless steel of the EV8 family, which keeps 650 MPa at 500 °C and 550 MPa at 600 °C, 30 % and then 120 % more than the original steel. Black nitriding makes the surface harder and smoother: the stem rubs and wears less in the guide.
SUPERTECH offers them in standard size (37.5 mm head) and in two oversizes, +1 mm (38.5 mm) and +2 mm (39.5 mm), with a 5.97 mm stem and a 103.6 mm length. On the oversizes, the wider head opens a larger passage at the seat, the cylinder fills better and the engine gains power, with the inlet seats cut to the new size.

The +1 mm and +2 mm sizes require the inlet seats to be cut to 38.5 mm or 39.5 mm, workshop work to plan with the cylinder head rebuild.
The 2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE set their valve clearance with shims on solid tappets: after replacing the valves, check the clearance and adjust the shims.

The size is chosen according to the condition of the inlet seats and the filling gain wanted.
