NSB Concept has selected the Wiseco forged piston range for its use of 4032 aluminum alloy, which has relatively low expansion and high tensile strength, meeting the requirements of all turbocharger/supercharger/charged engine preparations/conversions. A small range is also available for drag racing applications, made from 2618 aluminum alloy, which has very high density and mechanical strength but very high expansion, making it suitable exclusively for dragster prototypes requiring preheating and warm-up time. engine.

For these two materials, the process is then identical: the aluminum alloy is compressed under very high pressure, a process called forging, before being machined in a 5-axis machining center for defect-free manufacturing. Then, depending on the options, it receives a high-temperature treatment on the piston crown and/or an anti-friction treatment on the skirt of the forged piston.
