This complete set of three rods fits the three-cylinder Smart M160, in both 0.6 and 0.7 litre form. It allows a full bottom end rebuild in a single operation, with rods that are strictly identical to one another.

Torque and bolt stretch

ARP 2000 bolts are tightened to 40.7 Nm, or by stretch control between 0.140 and 0.152 mm. With ARP L19 bolts, torque is 54.2 Nm, for a stretch between 0.127 and 0.140 mm. Measuring stretch with a dial indicator remains the most reliable method: it reflects the real tension in the bolt, whereas torque depends on thread friction.

Set supplied complete, bolts included depending on the range chosen. Fitting these forged rods is usually combined with replacing the original pistons with forged pistons.
