Set of 8 reinforced inlet valves for the OPEL Z16LER, Z18XER and A18XER.
The Z16LER, Z18XER and A18XER are Opel 16-valve, twin-cam four-cylinders: the 1.6 litre turbo Z16LER powers the 192 hp Corsa D 1.6 Turbo, while the 1.8 litre Z18XER and A18XER are fitted to the 140 hp Astra H and J, Insignia A, Mokka, Vectra C, Signum and Zafira.
Their cylinder head carries 8 original inlet valves 55557741 (6 41 076), held by collets 90529533. Raised boost on the Z16LER, sharper camshafts or a higher rev limit on the 1.8 expose them to more heat and impact.
The inlet valve lets fresh air in, drops back onto its seat at every closing and slides in its guide, between 400 and 550 °C. In that range, the chrome-silicon steel of standard valves goes from 500 MPa at 500 °C to 250 MPa at 600 °C, 50 % of its strength lost.
The SUPERTECH GIVN-3320S-8 is made of EV8 stainless steel, which keeps 550 MPa at 600 °C: 120 % better than chrome-silicon at that temperature. It is black nitrided, which hardens the stem surface; its head is dished and its stem undercut below the head.
Its single groove replaces the original grooves: with its dedicated collets it grips the stem firmly and unloads the groove, securing the retainer at high rpm.

This single groove valve must be fitted with SUPERTECH KPR-5.0-7S collets, two per valve.
Valve clearance is set with graded tappets: after replacing the valves, check it and select tappets of the right thickness.
