These guides fit the exhaust side of the Toyota 1GR-FE 4.0 litre V6, the 24-valve engine of the Land Cruiser Prado, Hilux, Fortuner, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Tacoma, Tundra and the Lexus GX 400. The engine's twelve exhaust valves call for twelve guides, which this kit supplies.

On this 4.0 litre V6, the exhaust guides take the heat of burnt gases without respite. They centre the valve, draw heat from its stem into the head and support the seal; once the bore is worn, the valve knocks, closes badly and lets oil burn, with bluish smoke to prove it.

FERREA offers this guide in its American copper bronze, worked by a heat treatment that the brand's catalogue links to better heat removal, slower wear, good strength at temperature and a better-kept oil film. CNC machining stays precise and accepts titanium and stainless steel. The kit holds twelve guides, one for each exhaust valve. They usually go together with reinforced exhaust valves.
