These kits target the KA24DE, the 2.4 litre twin-cam 16-valve four-cylinder of the 240SX, Altima, Navara D22 and several Japanese saloons and people carriers of the 1990s and 2000s.
From the factory, each valve carries a 13203-53F00 spring (then 13203-9E000 and 13203-0Z800 depending on the year), topped by an upper retainer 13209-53F00 or 13209-9E000 and seated on the lower spring seat 13205-40F00. The split collets 13210-40F00, then 13210-D4200, lock the whole stack.
SUPERTECH reinforced valve spring kit
Each valve opening compresses the spring, which then has to bring the stem back against the cam without delay. When the engine climbs in revs, a stock spring can let go: the valve bounces, lands late or touches the piston.
The three kits state 427 N (H1000D), 374 N (H100DR) and 325 N (H1002D) on the seat for an installed height of 34.85 mm.

Each SUPERTECH kit brings double springs, titanium upper retainers and lower spring seats; the factory collets stay in place.
Installed height is the distance, valve closed, from the foot of the spring sitting on the lower spring seat to the upper retainer that caps it. All three kits are rated at 34.85 mm: 427 N for the H1000D, 374 N for the H100DR, 325 N for the H1002D. A recut seat or a planed head lengthens it and takes load away, more so with a stiff spring; the reference figure follows.

Technical guide
Our brands
| SUPERTECH is a Californian maker of competition valvetrain parts, active in California for over thirty years. Its springs are wound with care from alloyed steel, then every production series goes through ultrasound, radiography and a laser scan before it ships. |
How to choose
With stiffer springs the valve follows the cam profile much higher up the rev range. The KA24DE can then take a more aggressive camshaft, a turbo or a raised ignition cut without the valvetrain running away. All three kits are rated for one installed height, 34.85 mm; the maximum net lift is 14.0 mm for the H1000D and 15.3 mm for the H1002D, figures that camshaft lift must not exceed. A welcome safety margin on track or in drift.
| Criterion | Key point |
|---|---|
| Choosing the pressure | The 96, 84 and 73 lbs designate seat load: 427 N for the H1000D, 374 N for the H100DR, 325 N for the H1002D. Compare the lift of your cam, the revs you are chasing and any turbo. A very generous cam points to the H1002D and its 15.3 mm of lift; an engine pushed for revs points to the firmer H1000D. More load than needed gains nothing and tires the cams. |
| Single or double spring | Two springs of different diameters, one nested inside the other, sit on each valve: they share the effort and restrain each other when they vibrate. It is the answer to holding up at high revs, where the single stock spring ends up tiring. Retainers in titanium and lower seats complete the kit. |
When reinforced springs become necessary
- Camshaft whose lift exceeds the original
- Maximum revs far above normal
- Turbocharger or supercharger fitted, or boost raised
- Head reworked for track, drift or rally use
- Tired springs or valves bouncing at high revs
