Unlike many of its competitors, which machine cams from cast steel, CATCAMS cuts its camshafts directly from billet, which makes them much more resistant. Most of the time, CATCAMS camshafts are hollow in order to reduce their mass.

Indeed, each camshaft profile has been developed according to the specifics of each engine but also according to the use/application (road, sport, rally, drag, circuit, etc.).

Two parameters are important when choosing a camshaft profile: valve lift and angle (opening duration). An increase in opening times allows for an increase in power/torque, and an increase in lift optimises power at high rpm.
