This kit fits the 5.6 litre 32-valve V8 VK56DE, found in the Nissan Titan, Armada, third-generation Pathfinder and Patrol of the Y62 series.
The double springs in the kit stand in for the factory ones and bring their own seats and retainers; the original collets are kept.
SUPERTECH reinforced valve spring kit
Once past the top of the lobe, the spring brings the valve back to its seat. At high revs inertia fights back: without enough load the valve bounces, lands late and can end up against the piston. This is known as valve float.
This kit brings 32 double springs: 258 N on the seat at 36 mm height, then 681 N with the valve lifted 10 mm.

The SUPERTECH kit holds 32 double springs, 32 titanium upper retainers and 32 lower spring seats; the original collets stay fitted.
With the valve shut, measure from the lower spring seat, where the spring sits, to the upper retainer: that gap is the installed height. The 258 N figure holds only at 36 mm. When the gap widens, after the seats are ground for instance, load drops by the spring rate for each added millimetre; see the table below for the exact values.

How to choose
Firmer springs let the valve stay in contact with the cam at far higher engine speeds. Raising the limiter, installing a sharper cam or adding boost no longer risks valve float. The kit gives 258 N on the seat at 36 mm, the figure shown in the table above. Finally, measure your cam and make sure it never lifts more than these springs tolerate, which is 16.0 mm of net lift.
