The SUPERTECH kit includes the single springs, the upper retainers and the lower spring seats.
Installed height means the distance separating the lower spring seat from the upper retainer when the valve is closed. Here 289 N act at exactly 33.8 mm. A recut seat or a skimmed head lengthens that distance and lowers the load, all the more so with a stiffer spring; the reference figure is given in the table opposite, next to the matching seat load.

How to choose
A stiffer spring holds the valve against the cam across a much wider rev range. On a built D16A1 that allows a sharper camshaft, or higher revs, without the valvetrain going into float. This kit brings 289 N on the seat at 33.8 mm; its maximum net lift of 11.6 mm limits the camshaft choice, as the cam lift must stay below it.
